Health Disclaimer & Liability Waiver
1. Educational, not medical advice
iYogaU offers educational and spiritual programs grounded in yoga, meditation, breathwork, journaling, and Vedic astrology. Nothing we publish on this website, teach in our programs, or share through individual mentorship is medical advice, psychological treatment, or therapy. Our content is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition.
Always seek the advice of a qualified physician, mental-health professional, or other licensed practitioner with any questions you may have about a medical or psychological condition. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on iyogau.com or learned in an iYogaU program.
2. Consult a physician before beginning
Yoga is a physical practice. It involves movement, postures, breath control, and sometimes intense physical effort. Before beginning any iYogaU program — and before beginning any new physical activity in general — you should consult a qualified physician. This is especially important if any of the following apply to you:
- You have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or any cardiovascular disease.
- You are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are postpartum.
- You have asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, or any other chronic medical condition.
- You are recovering from injury or surgery, or have a current musculoskeletal limitation (back, neck, knee, shoulder, hip, wrist, ankle).
- You have a history of eating disorders, mental-health conditions, or psychiatric medication needs.
- You take any medication that affects balance, blood pressure, or perception.
- You have any other condition that might be affected by physical exertion, breathwork, or extended periods of stillness.
If your physician advises against participation, do not enroll. If your physician advises modifications, please share that information with us during enrollment so your instructor can adapt the practice safely.
3. Your self-certification
By enrolling in an iYogaU program, you represent and warrant the following:
- You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this waiver.
- You have either consulted a qualified physician about beginning the program, or you have voluntarily decided that such consultation is not necessary in your circumstances and accept the consequences of that decision.
- You are physically and mentally able to participate in yoga, meditation, breathwork, and reflective journaling.
- You will inform your instructor before any session of any condition, injury, medication, or limitation that may affect your safe participation, including any change in your health status during the program.
- You will listen to your body, will not push beyond your limits, and will stop or modify any practice that causes pain, dizziness, sharp discomfort, shortness of breath, or any other warning sign.
- If you become pregnant during the program, you will notify your instructor immediately and consult your physician about whether to continue.
4. Inherent risks you assume
Yoga, meditation, and related practices carry inherent risks. By enrolling, you knowingly and voluntarily assume these risks, which include but are not limited to:
- Muscle strains, sprains, and other soft-tissue injury.
- Joint injury, including the back, neck, knees, shoulders, wrists, hips, and ankles.
- Falls, bruises, and abrasions.
- Cardiovascular events, especially during vigorous practice or breathwork.
- Lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting, or hyperventilation during or after breathwork (pranayama).
- Emotional release, anxiety, intrusive memories, or other psychological reactions during meditation or journaling. If this happens, please pause the practice and contact your instructor and, if needed, a qualified mental-health professional.
- Aggravation of pre-existing conditions.
5. Release of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in consideration of being permitted to participate in iYogaU programs, you, on behalf of yourself, your heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Ali Karimi, iYogaU, its instructors, mentors, employees, contractors, and affiliates (the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, actions, and causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury — including death — that you may sustain in connection with participation in any iYogaU program, except for claims arising from gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Released Parties or where prohibited by law.
6. Agreement to indemnify
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur as a result of your participation in iYogaU programs, except where caused by the Released Parties' gross negligence or willful misconduct.
7. Medical emergencies and consent
You authorize iYogaU and its instructors to seek emergency medical care for you in the event of a medical emergency during an in-person session if you are unable to consent yourself, and you acknowledge that you are responsible for any costs associated with such care. iYogaU does not provide medical care and is not responsible for the actions of any third-party emergency responders.
8. Modifications and informing your instructor
Your instructor will offer general modifications during practice. Modifications cannot be tailored to a condition we don't know about. If you do not disclose a relevant condition, the responsibility for resulting injury or harm rests with you. Please share what you can during the application and update us as conditions change.
9. Online and unsupervised practice
Portions of iYogaU programs are delivered online and self-paced. When you practice without an instructor physically present, you are solely responsible for your safety, the safety of your environment (clear floor, stable surface, no hazards), and your decisions about the intensity and duration of practice. The instructor is not in a position to observe and correct you during online or self-paced practice.
10. No guarantee of results
iYogaU does not guarantee any specific physical, emotional, spiritual, or psychological outcome. Testimonials shared on the website reflect individual experiences and are not representations of the results you should expect.
11. Severability and applicable law
If any portion of this Health Disclaimer & Liability Waiver is held to be unenforceable, the remainder will continue in full force and effect. Where applicable consumer-protection law gives you rights that cannot be waived (for example, in California, Korea, or the European Union), this waiver does not limit those rights. Governing law and dispute resolution follow the Governing law and disputes section of our Terms of Service.
12. Contact
