Privacy law varies significantly by jurisdiction. The cards below link to the notice that applies in your region, with the specific rights and processes you can invoke. The general policy below covers practices that apply globally.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction not covered above, the GDPR / general rights section below describes the rights and processes available to you. If you are unsure which notice applies, contact privacy@iyogau.com.
1. Information we collect

- Contact details: name, email address, phone number (optional), country of residence.
- Application information: short answers about your background, goals, and yoga experience submitted through the application form.
- Astrology information (optional): birth date, birth time, and birth location, only if you choose to enroll in the natal chart component. This is treated as sensitive information.
- Health self-disclosure (during enrollment): any medical conditions or pregnancy status you choose to disclose so we can adapt the practice for safety. This is treated as sensitive information.

- Course interaction: journal entries you submit through the iYogaU platform during your program.
- Communications: the content of emails or messages you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Server access logs: our hosting provider logs IP addresses and request metadata for fraud and abuse prevention. We do not run our own analytics.
- Browser-level information: your browser sends standard HTTP headers (browser type, language preference, referring page) to load the site.
iYogaU does not deploy Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, session replay tools, or other behavioral tracking on this website.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and process your application.
- To deliver the program: schedule sessions, review journal entries, prepare the Vedic chart analysis, send course materials.
- To process payment and issue receipts.
- To send important program-related communications (schedule changes, prerequisite reminders).
- To send our newsletter, only if you explicitly opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
- To comply with legal obligations and to defend our legal rights.
We do not use your information to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and we do not allow our service providers to do so with your data.
3. When we share information
We share personal information only in the following limited cases:
- Payment processor: to charge enrollment fees.
- Email delivery: a transactional email provider that delivers receipts and program communications.
- Hosting provider: the static website is hosted on GitHub Pages. The journaling platform is hosted separately under iYogaU control.
- Legal compliance: if required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order) or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfer: if iYogaU is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the successor entity, subject to this policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share information with advertising networks or data brokers.
4. Cookies, fonts, and third-party requests
iYogaU uses the following local browser storage on your device:
localStorageentries (iyogau_lang,iyogau_theme) to remember your language and theme preferences. These never leave your browser.sessionStorageentry (iyogau_fx_session) to cache currency exchange rates for the duration of your visit.
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
Our website loads Google Fonts from Google's CDN. When fonts load, your browser makes a request to Google, which receives your IP address and standard HTTP headers in the process. Google's handling of that request is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share any other information with Google.
If we add analytics or other non-essential trackers in the future, we will update this policy and present a clear consent notice for visitors in regions that require it (EEA, UK, California, etc.) before any non-essential tracker runs.
5. How long we keep information
- Application and enrollment records: kept for the duration of your relationship with iYogaU plus seven (7) years for tax and accounting compliance.
- Journal entries: retained as long as your iYogaU platform account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
- Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe.
- Email correspondence: kept for up to three (3) years from the last interaction unless required longer for legal reasons.
6. How we protect information
We use TLS (HTTPS) for all transmissions of personal information. The journaling platform is access-controlled and protected with reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
7. EEA / UK rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the GDPR (and UK GDPR) provides the following rights:
- Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our legal bases for processing: (a) performance of a contract (program delivery), (b) legitimate interests (responding to inquiries, preventing fraud), (c) consent (newsletter, optional astrology data), and (d) legal obligation (tax records).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@iyogau.com from the address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days.
8. International transfers
iYogaU operates across multiple jurisdictions. When personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards. EEA/UK transfers use Standard Contractual Clauses where required. Mainland China transfers follow PIPL Article 38 routes (separate consent and a security assessment, certification, or standard contract as applicable). South Korea transfers are disclosed in advance under PIPA Article 28-8 and rely on documented user consent or other lawful grounds.
9. Children's privacy
iYogaU programs are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (e.g., a banner on the website or an email to active practitioners) before the changes take effect.
