California Privacy Notice
This notice supplements iYogaU's general Privacy Policy and describes how we handle personal information of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), Cal. Civ. Code §1798.100 et seq.
1. Categories of personal information we collect
In the past 12 months, iYogaU has collected the following categories of personal information defined under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.140(v):
- Identifiers — name, email address, postal address (for residents in CA), phone number, account ID.
- Customer records — application content, payment confirmation references.
- Commercial information — services purchased and enrollment history.
- Internet or other electronic activity — server access logs, language and theme preferences stored locally on your device.
- Geolocation data — only at the country level inferred from your stated country of residence; we do not collect precise GPS coordinates.
- Inferences — drawn solely from your application to assess program suitability.
- Sensitive personal information — only if you opt in: birth date, time, and location for the Vedic chart component, plus any health information you choose to disclose during enrollment so we can adapt the practice safely. See section 5.
We do not collect: biometric information, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs (beyond what you may volunteer in journal entries), union membership, genetic data, sexual orientation, or precise geolocation.
2. Sources of personal information
- Directly from you via forms, emails, and journal submissions.
- Indirectly from your device via standard HTTP headers when you visit the website.
- Service providers who confirm payment.
3. Business purposes for collection
- Delivering the iYogaU program you enrolled in (auditing, security, processing applications, mentorship, journaling review).
- Processing payments and issuing receipts.
- Communicating with you about your enrollment.
- Maintaining the security and integrity of our website and services.
- Complying with legal obligations.
4. Categories of recipients
In the past 12 months, we have disclosed personal information for business purposes to:
- Our payment processor.
- Our transactional email provider.
- Our website hosting provider.
- Government authorities, when required by valid legal process.
5. Sensitive personal information
We collect sensitive personal information only with your explicit opt-in at enrollment, and we use it only for the limited purposes you authorize:
- Birth date, time, and place — used solely to prepare your Vedic natal chart for the astrology component of the program.
- Health information you choose to disclose — used solely to adapt the practice for safety and to honor any modifications your physician has recommended.
We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. You have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to perform the services. To do so, contact privacy@iyogau.com.
6. Sale and sharing — we do neither
iYogaU does not sell personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration. iYogaU does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. In the past 12 months, we have neither sold nor shared personal information of any California resident, including minors under 16.
7. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Even though we do not sell or share personal information, this channel exists so you can record an opt-out preference and submit it to us. To opt out:
- Email privacy@iyogau.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share." Include the email address associated with your account.
- Send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser. iYogaU honors GPC as a valid opt-out request and applies it across all browsers and devices we can associate with you.
If we ever change our practices to sell or share personal information, this opt-out preference will be honored automatically and we will provide additional notice before the change takes effect.
8. Your rights and how to exercise them
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, or sold/shared about you in the prior 12 months. You may request a copy in a portable format.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected, subject to specific exceptions (e.g., to complete the transaction, comply with legal obligations, detect security incidents).
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing (see section 7).
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (see section 5).
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge different prices, provide a different level of quality, or retaliate because you exercised any of these rights.
To submit a request:
- Email privacy@iyogau.com from the address associated with your account, OR
- Reply to any iYogaU email confirming your account ownership.
We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days, with one 45-day extension if reasonably necessary. We will verify your identity using information you have already provided to us; we will not ask for additional sensitive information solely for verification.
9. Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. The agent must provide signed permission demonstrating they are authorized to act on your behalf, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us. This does not apply if the agent has a valid power of attorney under California Probate Code §§4000-4465.
10. "Shine the Light" (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83)
California residents may request a notice describing what categories of personal information iYogaU has shared with third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes during the prior calendar year. iYogaU does not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes, so the answer is "none." To make this request anyway, email privacy@iyogau.com.
11. Minors
iYogaU programs are restricted to adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share personal information about minors. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact privacy@iyogau.com and we will delete it.
12. Annual request metrics
iYogaU does not currently meet the threshold of 10 million California consumers that requires public disclosure of CCPA/CPRA request metrics under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.130(a)(5)(D). If we cross that threshold, we will publish the prior calendar year's metrics here annually by July 1.
